Google Circle to Search with translation now available on more devices
Google has announced that it is expanding the availability of its innovative Circle to Search gesture to most Pixel and Samsung devices.
Here's What We Know
This gesture, which allows you to quickly find content on the screen by drawing or stroking, has received additional functionality in the form of translation support.
Since the premiere of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in January, Google has introduced Circle to Search as a new universal search method that can quickly find information on the phone screen. Users can activate this mode by holding down the home button or using the navigation gesture bar, and then simply draw or circle an object to find more information about it.
Thanks to the new translation feature, users can now quickly translate text on the screen by simply activating Circle to Search and circling or drawing the desired text. This will further simplify the process of translating texts and even documents into another language without having to leave the app or web page.
In addition, Google has announced the expansion of Circle to Search support across devices. From now on, this gesture will be available on the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, and 7a models, and it is expected to be supported on the upcoming Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet devices. According to Samsung, the feature will also be included in the upcoming One UI 6.1 update for its 2023 flagship devices, including the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and Tab S9 series.
It is assumed that the feature will be available for more devices by October this year, but the exact dates have not yet been announced.
