Google Assistant can turn off all alarms on your Pixel phone
Voice commands to turn off alarms on Pixel phones can delete all alarms saved on your device.
Here's What We Know
Pixel users are experiencing alarms disappearing when using Google Assistant, and the issue is not limited to just one model. Google Assistant seems to be misinterpreting voice commands, and physically setting alarms aside may be the only solution at this time.
Google Assistant is a key tool on the Android platform that provides users with convenient voice control of connected smart devices, music playback, making calls, messaging, and other functions.
How To Switch It On
It's easy enough to set an alarm using the assistant by saying "Okay, Google, set the alarm for 5pm" or "in two hours", and you can also turn off the alarm with a command like "Okay, Google, turn off" all the alarms.
While the problem was discovered while trying to turn off the alarm on a smart speaker in another room with a Pixel 8 Pro, at least one other user on the X confirmed that they noticed similar behaviour on their Pixel phone.
Android Authority found that the Pixel 7 exhibits similar behaviour, so it appears to be affecting Pixel phones regardless of model number. The Google Assistant support pages show similar complaints from as far back as January 2021, so Google hasn't experienced this before.
Even a request to pause alarms can delete all the others that are saved on your device.
Such issues are known to be easily resolved with a software update or server-side patch.
