More than 400 CD Projekt RED developers are working on The Witcher 4, but the project is still in pre-production

During its recent quarterly earnings call, CD Projekt provided an update on its current projects, detailing their current stages of production and the company's share of work on each.

Here's What We Know

The main focus is on The Witcher 4, also known as Project Polaris, which has 403 developers working on it in pre-production - about 64% of CD Projekt employees. CEO Adam Badowski confirmed that full production of the game will begin in 2024.

Other projects are at earlier stages: Project Orion, a sequel to Cyberpunk, is at the concept stage with a team of 47 people; a smaller team of 17 is still working on Cyberpunk 2077. Project Sirius, The Molasses Flood's Witcher spin-off, is in pre-production with 37 developers. Fool's Theory is a remake of the original Witcher, which is currently at the concept stage. The team size of this external project was not disclosed.

Lastly, Project Hadar, an original RPG IP from CDPR, is in "concept IP" stage with a team of 20 developers.
