Belgium allocates 100m euros for maintenance of Ukrainian F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters

Belgium has announced a new military aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The information was shared by the Belgian Defence Minister Ludivine Dedonder on Twitter. We are talking about a 25-package worth 100 million euros. The money will be used to maintain a fleet of Ukrainian fighter jets F-16 Fighting Falcon. By the way, the Netherlands recently announced that it would buy weapons for Ukrainian fourth-generation fighter jets.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a fourth-generation multi-role fighter aircraft. It was developed by the American company General Dynamics. Due to its versatility and low cost, the F-16 is a success on the international market. It is in service with 24 countries. The F-16 is the most mass-produced fourth-generation fighter. As of 2009, more than 4,400 machines were built, and in 2016, more than 2,500 were in operation. Incidentally, according to the New York Times, Ukraine will receive its first six F-16 aircraft this summer.
