Microsoft is working on an option that could significantly change the Xbox ecosystem, and potentially the entire gaming industry.

Here's What We Know

As reported by The Verge, and later confirmed by the corporation itself, in development is a chatbot based on artificial intelligence, which, as planned, will accept requests for technical support for users, answer their questions, give advice, make refunds and generate other useful information.

It is reported that the bot will be presented in the form of an animated character and will be able to respond to both text requests and voice commands, and respond to them in a detailed manner. And communication begins with the phrase: "How can I help you today?".

While the technology is still in the testing phase, including the example of solving the problems of users of the subscription Minecraft Realms, and at the moment the chatbot uses the existing database of support service Xbox.

The Verge's sources told The Verge that Microsoft won't stop at building the chatbot and will continue to use artificial intelligence in other ways, including creating believable NPCs, moderating content on Xbox, and providing advice to users in games.

For now, Microsoft is focused on shifting tech support tasks to the chatbot.
