NASA has announced that three companies - Intuitive Machines, Lunar Outpost, and Venturi Astrolab - are developing their own lunar vehicles (LTVs).

Here's What We Know

These vehicles for the Artemis mission will allow astronauts to explore the south pole of the Moon, where there may be water. NASA plans to conduct long expeditions during which astronauts will explore different regions of the Moon.

The LTVs will be designed to overcome extreme conditions on the Moon, the cold and problems associated with dust material on the surface. Each company will explore opportunities to develop the vehicles.

The creation and application of these new LTV vehicles in Artemis will be an important step in preparing for future crewed missions in the 2030s.
