Marcus "Notch" Persson is, without a doubt, one of the most prominent personalities in the gaming industry, as he created the legendary Minecraft game. Although Microsoft owns the rights to Minecraft, Marcus is not idle and has founded his own studio.

Here's What We Know

The studio is called Bitshift Entertainment. The studio plans to create a "roguelike (in the old sense: cursed items, ridiculously broken mechanics) combined with a first-person dungeon crawler". However, Notch says that Bitshift will see where this vague direction will lead, so it's still more of a concept for now.

Marcus also showed a screenshot from the pre-alpha of the game, which is probably codenamed Levels and Chests. Visually, it resembles the first Doom. Although Persson himself said that he used the demon's pincushion model from Voxel Doom for the placeholder.

It is unknown when and where the game will be released, so for now, we can only follow all this.
