Senua's Saga: Hellblade II won't bore gamers with its length - Ninja Theory Studios aims to produce "small but focused games"

Gamers met the first part of Hellblade perfectly not only because of the unconventional narrative and excellent performance, but also because of the game's duration. It took 7-9 hours to complete and every minute of that time was interesting, intense and exciting.

The developers from Ninja Theory didn't go along with modern trends and make the sequel of their game huge and stretch it for dozens of hours.

Here's What We Know

Head of Ninja Theory Dom Matthews in a conversation with IGN journalists told about the view on the timing of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II.

According to him, fans of games from the British studio do not want to get projects for hundreds of hours, as they are more than enough in the current market. Ninja Theory wants to meet the demands of those gamers who like short and, as the head of the studio said, focused games. That's why Hellblade II won't have anything superfluous, and the game will take about the same amount of time to play through as the first part.

I think people spend a lot of time these days, and I think our fans, from what we're hearing from them, enjoy shorter games where we're trying to make sure that every step along the way is meaningful... There's an audience of people who want games to be focused.

Well, judging by the trailers and the developers' stories, gamers are in for an unforgettable 8-9 hours of travelling through the lands of ancient Iceland.

When We Can Expect It

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will be released on 21st May on PC and Xbox Series. The game will be available on Game Pass from day one.

The game will be sold digitally only at a price of $50.
