Despite Marvel president Kevin Feige previously dismissing hopes for Iron Man's return, Robert Downey Jr. is more positive about his character's return to screens.

Here's What We Know

From the moment Marvel fans saw Tony Stark die in Avengers: Endgame, they have speculated about Iron Man's inevitable return. After all, comic book characters never really die, and the multiverse gives Marvel the perfect way to bring Robert Downey Jr. back to the MCU without undoing the sacrifice Iron Man made to save the universe.

But would the recent Oscar winner want to return? As it turns out, the answer is yes. In a recent interview with Esquire, Robert Downey Jr. confirmed that he would "love" to return to the MCU as Iron Man.

"Happily. It’s too integral a part of my DNA. That role chose me. And look, I always say, Never, ever bet against Kevin Feige. It is a losing bet. He’s the house. He will always win."

Meanwhile, Marvel will presumably begin laying the groundwork for Avengers: Secret Wars in Deadpool & Wolverine this summer. If the Secret Wars story in the MCU is anything like it was in the comics, it will include pretty much every major Marvel hero and villain to date.
