Meta has started testing a new messaging feature in its Threads app.

Here's What We Know

The popularity of Threads soon exceeded 130 million users, but many of them complain about the lack of direct messaging. In this regard, Meta has started testing a feature that will allow users to send messages from Threads without having to go to Instagram.

So far, the option is only available to a limited number of users, but it has already aroused interest and discussion in the community. A Meta spokesperson confirmed that the company is testing this feature, but stressed that it is not a DM test on Threads.

Although Threads doesn't have its own inbox yet, and it's not known if it will in the future, the innovation may make messaging on Threads less inconvenient for users. To view or reply to these messages, you still need to go to Instagram.

According to the head of Instagram, creating two versions of the same inbox can be a challenge.
