Meta has started testing a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence in its WhatsApp messenger. This is another step in the development of AI, which is now the main focus of many large corporations such as Microsoft, Google and Meta.

Here's What We Know

An early version of the tool is already available for testing in the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS and Android. Some users in India and a few other countries can already try out the new chatbot if they participate in WhatsApp's beta programme.

It is important to note that the Meta chatbot will work independently and will not be linked to users' correspondence in WhatsApp. Meta AI is currently integrated into the search bar at the top of the app. Anything users type into the search bar remains private until the user sends a query to the Meta chatbot. To the ability to search for specific content in their conversations, the search bar now allows users to contact the Meta AI chatbot directly.

Meta's AI-powered chatbot will be rolled out to even more users in the coming months. What it will look like in the final version of WhatsApp, if Meta decides to launch its AI-powered chatbot, is not yet known.
