Two weeks ago, Samsung started rolling out a new security update for its Galaxy smartphones, and now the initiative is expanding to tablets.

Here's What We Know

The new software update for Galaxy Tab S9 FE has been released for all European countries. It has firmware version X516BXXS3BXD6 and a relatively small download size. It covers security patches from April 2024, fixing several dozen identified vulnerabilities that existed in previous versions of the software.

Galaxy Tab S9 FE owners in Europe are advised to check the availability of this update by opening the Settings app on their device and going to the Software Update section. They can also download the new firmware file from the firmware database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy Tab S9 FE series was introduced by Samsung in mid-2023 with Android 13 pre-installed. At the end of last year, it received an update to One UI 6.0 based on Android 14.

In the next few weeks, owners of this device can expect to receive the One UI 6.1 update based on Android 14 with additional features. The tablet will receive three more updates to the Android operating system in the future.
