US police detain a group of criminals who stole $300,000 worth of Lego sets
After months of investigation, four criminals have been arrested on charges of a major theft of Lego sets worth around $300,000.
Here's What We Know
A group of criminals stole goods from retailers such as Target, Home Depot and Lowe's and illegally sold them on the black market. According to the police, the stolen Lego found their way into the hands of merchants through "legitimate" businesses, stock exchange meetings, and the Internet.
Among the stolen sets were such popular items as Millennium Falcon, Lord of the Rings Rivendell, Lion Knights Castle and a Porsche 911 model. These sets are the subject of close attention among Lego collectors and fans.
This is not the first time that Lego has been the target of criminal activity. In the past, similar cases were recorded in France and the United States. However, thanks to the prompt action of law enforcement agencies, the group of criminals operating in Los Angeles was uncovered and stopped.
The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
