The global fast food giant McDonald's is using its unique flavour to boost its advertising campaign in the Netherlands.

In the cities of Utrecht and Leiden, billboards were placed that looked ordinary at first glance, but as passers-by approached, they could smell McDonald's fries wafting from inside the billboard. This idea was the first of its kind, where the advertisement conveyed not only visual but also aromatic impressions, enhancing the memories of good times at a McDonald's restaurant.
These billboards were strategically placed in close proximity to McDonald's restaurants to encourage customers to make spontaneous visits to the restaurants.
