"Nice surprise" from Ubisoft: only those willing to pay more for the game will be able to work with Jabba the Hutt in Star Wars Outlaws
Gamers have accumulated many complaints about Ubisoft games, not the least of which is aggressive monetisation. However, the new decision of the French company will surely cause indignation even among the loyal Ubisoft fans.
Here's What We Know
One of the selling features of the Star Wars Outlaws crime action game is the opportunity to work for Jabba the Hutt himself - one of the most recognisable and memorable characters in the Star Wars franchise. However, it turns out that not all players will be able to complete a personal mission for the head of the Hutt Syndicate.
It turns out that the mission called Jabba's Gambit will only be available to those who have purchased the edition that includes the Season Pass, which is the Gold and Ultimate editions, they cost $109 and $129 respectively.
This move by Ubisoft is also surprising because typically Season Pass content appears in games over time, and the Jabba's Gambit quest will be available from release day.
It's unlikely that many gamers will pay $60 more to go on a quest with Jabba, especially since experience shows that this kind of content often appears in games for free after a while.
When We Can Expect It
Star Wars Outlaws will be released on 30 August 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
