Meta introduces virtual reality into the learning process: New product for Quest VR headset
Meta has announced its intention to release a new educational product for the Oculus Quest virtual reality headset.
Here's What We Know
The new product does not have an official name yet and will be aimed at securing the Quest headset's position as the main device for classroom learning. It should include a hub for educational apps and features, as well as the ability to control multiple headsets simultaneously without having to update each device individually.
Meta's president of global affairs, emphasised that the initiative aims to provide enhanced learning and development opportunities for students in a virtual environment.
However, along with the promises, questions arise. For example, will the cost of headsets and support for the virtual learning infrastructure be affordable for all schools? And how can we address the issues related to the duration of virtual reality use at a younger age?
Meta plans to launch the new product later this year in 20 markets, including the US, Canada, UK, Japan, and several other countries where Quest for Business is already supported.
