Google Messages has released the ability to record 3-second Selfie GIFs

Google Messages is introducing a new way to express yourself through Selfie GIFs. Following the introduction of a special camera, users can now record short animated images directly from the messaging app.

Here's What We Know

To use the new feature, users simply need to open a conversation and hold the camera icon in the text box. The Selfie GIF will only take 3 seconds to record and will be saved directly to the device's camera for later use.

It is currently unknown when Selfie GIF will be available to all users, as updates are being rolled out gradually.

Note that this option is not yet part of the standard Google Messages camera.
