Cities Skylines 2 developers to refund money for failed Beach Properties DLC. Paradox postponed the release of the game on consoles and the next addon
Cities Skylines 2 city-building simulator continues to be haunted by high-profile failures: first the developers released the game in a bad technical state, then it turned out that it doesn't correspond to the promises of the developers, after that several patches were released, which didn't improve the situation much, and the "cherry on the cake" was the release of paid DLC Beach Properties, which won the "honourable title" of the worst product in the history of Steam.
Here's What We Know
Publisher Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order studio once again apologised to gamers and promised to refund the money for Beach Properties, and as a compensation for moral damage Ultimate-edition purchasers will get three Creator Packs and three radio stations.
The developers promise that they will not allow such failures again, but in the meantime they are postponing the release of the Bridges and Ports addon until 2025. In addition, the console versions of Cities Skylines 2 will not be released until October 2024.
At the moment the authors are focused on improving the technical state of Cities Skylines 2 and filling it with high quality content and emphasised that future DLCs are created not to the detriment of work on the main game.
