Quantum-Systems, a German drone manufacturing company, is to open a factory and development centre in Ukraine.
Here's What We Know
The new production facility will be the company's second in Ukraine. It is expected to employ around 100 people by the end of 2024.
The agreement on the deployment of facilities in Ukraine was reached following a meeting between Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshyn and a German delegation led by Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Change Robert Habeck.
Quantum-Systems wants to invest up to six million euros in UAV development over the next two years. Today, the company produces dual-use drones at three facilities for the civil and public sectors. This is the fourth plant for the Germans in total. According to the plan, the new facility will increase the company's production capacity to 1,000 drones per year, including the production of spare parts.
The UAV from Quantum-Systems, called Vector, has been actively used in Ukraine since 2022.
