Star Wars Outlaws developers won't make the same mistakes as Starfield: Ubisoft will fill space with exciting activities
The developers of the Star Wars Outlaws crime action game continue to introduce gamers with interesting nuances of their game.
Ubisoft representatives talked to the editorial staff of Game Informer and told about what awaits players beyond the planets and moons.
Here's What We Know
The developers promise that not only on each planet gamers will find exciting activities, but also in their orbits.
Art director and Star Wars Outlaws world designer Benedikt Podlesnig said that his team made an effort to make the locations not only realistic and beautiful, but also interesting to explore.
We're travelling on a ship into space, which is vast and full of risk. It's marvellous, it's lucrative, but at the same time a mass of unknown awaits us.
Julian Gerighty, the project's creative director, said that around each of the moons or planets, something exciting can be found that will reward the player's attentiveness.
We tried to think: what would I want to do as a criminal in Star Wars? It's stealth. It's combat. It's brawls. It's sitting in a cantina and making choices, meaningful choices for the villain, meaningful choices for the criminal. It's flying. Jumping into a speeder and going from one settlement to another. So it was important for us to have that ambition and to push not only the technology but also the design team to make sure that all of this was done at the highest possible level of quality.
Judging by the developers' statements, they are trying to avoid the situation that happened with Starfield, where the player is given a galaxy to explore with a thousand available space objects, but the vast majority of them are grey, boring, empty and created using procedural generation.
When We Can Expect It
Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30, 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
