Summer Game Fest will feature the debut trailer of an ambitious strategy game from Blizzard veterans
In 2021, Blizzard's experienced game designer David Kim revealed that he and his colleagues had founded the Uncapped Games studio and started developing an ambitious real-time strategy game.
Since then nothing has been heard about the game, but now the young team has published a video in which they revealed the first information about the debut project.
Here's What We Know
David Kim, who has worked on StarCraft 2, Diablo IV, World of Warcraft, as well as Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War, said that he is not looking to release a complex and comprehensive RTS like StarCraft 2, but is instead focused on creating an immersive game that is not over-complicated with unnecessary mechanics, requirements and the need to control every action.
I wanted to try and create a game that was fun to play, not the most complex RTS ever made.
The Uncapped Games team notes that despite the deliberate simplification of some gameplay elements, their strategy game will still be quite complex and should appeal to long-time fans of the genre.
It is known that the project is financially supported by the Chinese corporation Tencent, so the budget of the game promises to be solid.
The first shots of the game will be presented at the Summer Game Fest show, which starts on the 7th of June at 23:00 CEST.
