Samsung is offering free display replacement for Galaxy S21 and S22 in India due to green line issue
Recently, reports of green lines on the displays of some Samsung devices have begun to surface. The problem was so significant that the company has officially responded to it in certain regions by offering a free one-time screen replacement for devices whose warranty has already expired.
Here's What We Know
Samsung has been providing display replacements for certain models in India since last year and now the list of supported models has been expanded to include the Galaxy S21 and S22 series. Reports of the problem have resumed in the past few weeks, indicating that more devices are now suffering from it. This requires Samsung to extend the offer of free display replacement on additional models.
Samsung India has been providing free display replacement for affected devices since July last year. The eligible devices were the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series. The company has now expanded this list to include the Galaxy S21 and S22 series. Like last year, all devices will also be offered a free battery and kit replacement, but it looks like there is now a deadline to utilise this offer. An appointment must be booked at a Samsung service centre before 30 April 2024 to receive a free replacement from the company.
Customers are actually getting a fully refurbished device with this offer. Getting new life for a device like the Galaxy S22 that is still relatively modern and will be supported programmatically for some time to come is an offer that is too good to pass up.
