Galaxy S24 FE may arrive later than expected
After Samsung announced its Galaxy S24, S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra flagships earlier this year, the South Korean company is now working on the fourth model in the series - the Galaxy S24 FE. Except that this smartphone will be released later than previously expected.
Here's What We Know
Following the logic of the previous Fan Edition phones, the Galaxy S24 FE has the codename R12. The S20 FE had the codename R8, the S21 FE was R9, and the Galaxy S23 FE had the codename R11. The R10 was supposed to be the S22 FE, but it was never released.
Samsung is now working on the R12 - the Galaxy S24 FE. There is very little information about this device so far. It remains unclear whether the S24 FE will be hardware based on the Galaxy S23 series or still based on the newer S24 models. The S23 FE was in many ways an improved version of the Galaxy S22.
Previously, there were reports that the new Galaxy S24 FE could be announced this summer, at the Galaxy Unpacked event. However, the current state of development rules out a summer or early autumn launch. Our colleagues at Galaxy Club report that the Galaxy S24 FE will not be launched until late autumn at the earliest - or possibly not even until early 2025. The situation is similar to the S23 FE, which was available for purchase in a limited number of countries in late 2023, but didn't become available in other markets until early 2024.
This means that Samsung will stick to roughly the same release schedule for the FE model and we shouldn't expect the smartphone before November. More information about the Galaxy S24 FE will emerge as we get closer to its official announcement.
