The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has purchased thousands of DJI Mavic and this is just the beginning
For the first time since the full-scale invasion, the Defence Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defence has purchased DJI Mavic 3 drones, namely 4,000 units worth more than UAH 570 million.
Here's What We Know
The procurement of these drones was made possible through the Prozorro system (an electronic public procurement system), which allowed for the best prices through competition between suppliers.
Following the bidding process, the Ministry of Defence signed contracts for the supply of 3,000 DJI Mavic 3E and 1,000 DJI Mavic 3T thermal imaging drones with additional equipment. The total value of the contracts is UAH 575.2 million.
The first batches of UAVs have already been delivered to military units. It is also worth noting that the drones purchased are only part of the Ministry of Defence's tender, as in March the agency announced the purchase of 15,000 DJI Mavic 3E and 5,000 DJI Mavic 3T for almost UAH 3 billion.
