Snapdragon X Plus: A budget variant of the Snapdragon X Elite has appeared in the Geekbench ML database
Qualcomm's new Snapdragon X Plus processor, which is a more affordable version of the flagship Snapdragon X Elite chip, has been revealed in the Geekbench ML listing. This new chip is expected to ship for mid-range devices.
Here's What We Know
The Snapdragon X Plus scored 2410 in the GeekBench ML test on a device codenamed OEMMN OEMMN. It is believed to be a mid-budget version of the Surface Pro 10. The full list of current and upcoming Surface laptops also supports this assumption. It was previously reported that Microsoft is working on two new laptops that will be powered by Snapdragon X-series processors - Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6.
As for the new X Plus chip, it runs on 10 Oryon cores, 6 of which are performance cores and the remaining 4 cores are focused on power efficiency. GeekBench data shows that the base frequency is 3.42GHz. In comparison, the X Elite chipset has 12 Oryon cores. However, while 10 of them run at 3.8GHz, two cores reach an operating frequency of up to 4.3GHz.
The new chips are expected to be quite expensive, especially considering their performance. However, the arrival of the Snapdragon X Plus could make the lineup more affordable for consumers.
