Mark Zuckerberg: Threads has 150 million users
The Meta Threads app now has more than 150 million monthly users, which is 20 million more than in February.
Here's What We Know
Mark Zuckerberg shared the latest user data during Meta's Q1 earnings call. He said that the app continues to move along the trajectory he hopes to see.
The update shows that Threads continues to grow steadily, albeit at a slower pace than initially. The app received over 100 million downloads in its first week. However, over the past six months, Threads has seen steadier growth, and Zuckerberg has suggested that the service could eventually become the next billion-user Meta app.
Threads is already surpassing some of the popularity indicators of X (formerly known as Twitter), especially in the United States, according to analytics firm Apptopia.
In addition, it is worth noting that Threads is currently the only Meta app that does not have advertising, but this may change in the future.
Zuckerberg confirmed that the company will focus on monetising the app only after it becomes sufficiently popular.
