Sam Raimi has commented on rumours about whether he will direct Avengers: Secret Wars for Marvel Studios
Rumours are swirling online that the director of 'Spider-Man' and 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness', Sam Raimi, may add Marvel's upcoming 'Avengers: Secret Wars' to his list of work. The director has decided to comment directly on this information.
Here's What We Know
According to Raimi's own statement, he currently has no concrete future plans with Marvel. Despite the fact that the sixth Avengers film isn't scheduled for release until 2027, production on the film should begin in the near future, but Raimi assured that he is not working on any Marvel project at this time.
"I don’t have any plans" he said of a possible return to Marvel. "But I would love it!".
There are also rumours that Raimi may return to direct the fourth Spider-Man film. In the past, the director did intend to direct a fourth instalment, but in 2010, his creative differences with Sony Pictures and Tobey Maguire led to them parting ways and the studio decided to relaunch the franchise with "The Amazing Spider-Man" starring Andrew Garfield.
Regarding his plans for "Spider-Man 4" at the moment, the director admitted that he hasn't even pondered about it, but in any case, he would first have to discuss it with Toby and the writers first.
Meanwhile, Sony, Marvel and Tom Holland Studios are developing a new "Spider-Man" film, but so far there are no details about the project.
