"Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" gets an R rating for violent scenes

The MPAA reportedly gave "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" an R rating for "sequences of violence and grisly images".

The official synopsis reads: "While two Tyrants war for dominance over the Citadel, Furiosa survives many trials as she plots a way back home through the Wasteland.".

The cast also includes Lachy Hulme as Immortan Joe, Tom Burke as Praetorian Jack, Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus, John Howard as Man-Eater, Angus Sampson as the Organic Mechanic, Charlee Fraser as Mary Jo Bass (Furiosa's mother), Daniel Webber as War Boy and Quaden Bayles.

The film was directed and written by George Miller.

When We Can Expect It

"Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15 before being released in cinemas on May 24.
