Future Samsung Galaxy Flip models may get a third camera with a zoom lens
All Galaxy Flip series models released until now only feature wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses. However, new data has emerged that suggests Samsung may eventually add a third, telephoto sensor to the back of future Galaxy Flip phones.
Here's What We Know
A Samsung patent discovered by our GalaxyClub colleagues reveals an intriguing Galaxy Flip design that includes three rear cameras and a rectangular screen that doesn't have a folder-shaped cutout. Judging from recent leaks, the upcoming Galaxy Flip 6 won't get a new design. Samsung is most likely working on a new design for the upcoming Galaxy Flip 7.
The patent application was filed back in mid 2022 and was granted in early 2023. It's not exactly a new design and only time will tell if it will become a reality. Right now, we can speculate that the Galaxy Flip 7, expected to go on sale in 2025, may feature a triple camera with a telephoto lens. However, it's too early to tell. Patent applications don't always match the final design or the company's true plans.
As for the Galaxy Flip 6, judging by the leaks, it will get a dual rear camera, with the main sensor in which will be 50MP. Also expected in the model is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, up to 12GB of RAM and Galaxy AI features.
The Galaxy Flip 6, as well as the Galaxy Fold 6, is expected to be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumoured to take place on July 10.
