5 alternatives to the folding smartphone ZTE nubia Flip 5G
The recently announced ZTE nubia Flip 5G smartphone in the clamshell form factor goes on sale on 29 April. The price in Europe is €599 for the 8+256GB variant and €699 for the 12+512GB model. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen1 processor, a 6.9-inch folding AMOLED display with a resolution of 2790 x 1188 pixels and a frequency of 120 Hz and an external round screen with a diameter of 1.43". The main camera has two modules - 50 and 2 megapixels. The battery capacity is 4310 mAh and supports fast 3W charging. Currently, this is not the only smartphone in this form factor made in China; it has several alternatives. Most of them will be presented in 2023.
Motorola Razr 40: lower price
The Motorola Razr 40 (currently produced by Lenovo) has the same Snapdragon 7 Gen1 processor, but differs in having two camera modules with 64 and 13 MP. This smartphone has a 4200 mAh battery and supports fast 30W charging, but also has the option of wireless charging. However, it loses out to the ZTE nubia Flip 5G with a smaller external display and a less impressive look. However, its price in Europe is just over 400 euros.

This smartphone has a Mediatek Dimensity 9200 processor of the same class and generation as the Snapdragon 7 Gen1 in the ZTE nubia Flip 5G. But it has a triple main camera with 50, 48, and 2 megapixel modules. The 4300 mAh battery supports fast 44W charging, which can charge the smartphone by 50% in 23 minutes. In addition to the main 6.8-inch display, this model has an external 3.26-inch screen with a resolution of 382x720 pixels and a vertical orientation. Its price is more than $1,000.

Tecno Phantom V Flip: for the Indian market
The most exotic competitor to the ZTE nubia Flip 5G sold in the Indian market. It offers users a less powerful Mediatek Dimensity 8050 processor, a dual camera of 64+13 megapixels, and a 4000 mAh battery. The manufacturer declares a record 45-watt charging speed of 50% in just 15 minutes. In India, this smartphone is sold for Rs 42,500, which corresponds to the level of 65 euros.
