Microsoft discontinues support for Skype for Business and focuses on developing Microsoft Teams

Microsoft has announced that it will no longer support Skype for Business software. This means that users will no longer have access to Skype for Business servers and XML settings associated with the platform.

Here's What We Know

Instead, the company is focusing on the development of Microsoft Teams, introducing the 5.0.111.0 update to Microsoft Teams Rooms. The update will bring 4K support for compatible displays and a number of new features, including language options in Teams Rooms and the ability to join meetings using QR codes.

While Skype for Business remains active, Microsoft continues to modernise Teams by introducing new features such as GroupMe and Communities, which provide opportunities for communication and collaborative planning in remote spaces.
