Bethesda CEO Todd Howard may have hinted that two games in the Fallout franchise are in the works at once
Bethesda CEO Todd Howard took part in the Kinda Funny Games podcast, where he not only revealed when to expect the Shattered Space add-on for Starfield, but also hinted at the future of another franchise.
Here's What We Know
A few days ago, insider Jez Corden reported that according to his information Microsoft is urging Bethesda to speed up production of Fallout 5, even to the detriment of work on The Elder Scrolls VI.
But it seems the company is working on two Fallout games at once!
In his expressive manner, Todd Howard stated:
We look at what we're doing with the Fallout franchise and then we discuss whether we like everything. I can't say much, but there's something that's going to be a runway for the Fallout franchise.
When is the second season of the series coming out? What are we doing for mobile devices? How are we developing Fallout 76? What are we doing with this thing? What are we doing with the other thing? And when will they land (come out)? And if I could snap my fingers and it would be done, I would. But in doing so, how do we make sure they are of the highest quality? - That's always more important than anything else.
Of course, the kind of "What are we doing with this thing? What are we doing with the other thing?" is hard to take as confirmation of two Fallout games, but if fans of the series want to believe that the studio is preparing two projects at once - now there is at least some justification for it. Especially, taking into account the fact that in the summer of 2023, as part of the FTC case against Microsoft, many confidential documents appeared in the network, in one of which was found mention of several unannounced Bethesda's new products, among which was a remaster of Fallout 3.
