Instagram revises its algorithm to support users with small audiences
Instagram has announced significant changes to its algorithm aimed at supporting smaller creators. This decision, which will be rolled out over the next few months, aims to balance the reach of content between large and small creators.
Here's What We Know
According to Instagram representatives, the platform is trying to provide a level playing field for all users in terms of reach. This change comes after criticism from smaller creators who felt that their content was not receiving enough attention due to the dominance of large accounts.
One of the key innovations is the shift from reposts to original content in recommendations, as well as the addition of tags to reposted content to link back to the original author. Also, accounts that frequently publish content from other authors without their participation may be excluded from recommendations.
