Circumstantial evidence has surfaced that Microsoft is developing its own handheld gaming console
Authoritative insiders and journalists have repeatedly reported that Microsoft is developing its own portable gaming console under the Xbox brand, and even managed to create several working prototypes.
So far, the American corporation has not confirmed this information, but finally the first indirect confirmation of this rumour has appeared.
Here's What We Know
It has become known that subscribers to Microsoft's newsletter to email subscribers receive a survey concerning portable consoles. The company is interested in whether gamers use such devices, which manufacturers they prefer, whether the console should natively run games or cloud gaming is enough, what factors influence the choice of console, what size it should be and much more.
Of course, this could be standard market research that all companies do, and it doesn't always lead to the release of new devices, but combined with the previous information and Xbox chief Phil Spencer's love of handheld consoles, we can cautiously conclude that Microsoft is indeed preparing to release a competitor to the Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, Lenovo Legion Go, ASUS Rog Ally, MSI Claw, and more.
