Vivo X100 Ultra promises to outperform Vivo X100 Pro in telephoto and night photography
The new smartphones from Vivo - Vivo X100s and Vivo X100 Ultra will be unveiled soon. Vivo's product manager, Han Boxiao, has already started fuelling interest in the upcoming new products and now he has revealed some information about the Vivo X100 Ultra.
Here's What We Know
On social network Weibo, Han Boxiao revealed that the new smartphones will be unveiled after the May Day holidays, which are currently taking place in China. He also hinted at a significant improvement in the telephoto lens resolution and night shooting capabilities of the Vivo X100 Ultra, compared to the Vivo X100 Pro. The official poster of the Vivo X100 Ultra that recently surfaced shows that the device will feature a circular camera module with three cameras inside.
The camera set is expected to include a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 main camera with OIS support. This is the same main camera used in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. The X100 Ultra is expected to feature a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera as well. The camera set will probably include a 200-megapixel periscopic telephoto camera that can offer 4.3x optical zoom and 200x digital zoom.
In April, Vivo's vice president of products, Huang Tao, highlighted the X100 Ultra, saying that it is a professional camera that also functions as a phone. According to reports, the Vivo X100 Ultra will have a 6.78-inch AMOLED E7 display that will offer 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Under the bonnet, the device will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage and 80W fast charging support. There is no information about the battery size of the device yet.
