The first smartphone powered by MediaTek Dimensity flagship-level chip is coming soon to the US
For the first time in history, a smartphone running on the chipset MediaTek, will appear on the US market. This became known during the Analyst Day event held by MediaTek. The new smartphone will not just be an entry-level or mid-range device, but a full-fledged flagship.
Here's What We Know
At the moment, most Android smartphones in the US run on Qualcomm chipsets, with the exception of some models with Samsung Exynos chips. However, this is about to change and the first smartphone with MediaTek's flagship chip will hit the US market later this year. Unfortunately, MediaTek is not yet revealing details about the new device. Thus, it remains unknown which brand will introduce its premium MediaTek-powered smartphone in the US in 2024.
The latest flagship chip from MediaTek so far is the Dimensity 9300, which was introduced last year. The first smartphones equipped with this chip were the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro. It's also worth noting that MediaTek is planning to announce the Dimensity 9300 Plus processor on 7 May, in China. This will be an overclocked version of the Dimensity 9300. It is expected that the first smartphones with this chip will be Vivo X100s and X100s Pro.
In addition, the Dimensity 9400 chip is expected to be announced in October this year. This could be a 3nm chip with ARM's new Cortex-X5 processor core. The new chip is likely to appear in the Vivo X200 series. The chip is also expected to be used in Oppo's new flagship, which will apparently be called the Oppo Find X8.
We can only wait to see which of these devices will hit the US market this year.
