HMD is set to revive the Nokia 3210 - the legendary 1999 phone
HMD Global recently introduced smartphones under its own brand. But it does not forget about Nokia (HMD owns the rights to this brand) either. That's why soon we will see the re-release of the legendary model from the late 90s.
Here's What We Know
The other day HMD hinted in social networks that it will soon re-release the classic Nokia model. And thanks to Finnish retailer Giganti, we now know that it's a remake of the Nokia 3210.
Nokia 3210 from 1999
The original Nokia 3210 was released back in 1999, that is 25 years ago. Judging by the renders, the updated version does not exactly copy the design of the original: there are similarities in the button layout, but otherwise the phone is probably closer to the Nokia 3310 of the early 2000s. The renders show the device in bright blue and yellow colours.
The modern model will also get improved specs: a 2.4-inch QVGA colour screen (instead of a 1.5-inch monochrome one), 4G support and a 2-megapixel camera with f/2.8 aperture on the back that can shoot 720p video.
But for a long battery life, as in the Nokia 3210, do not count on a long battery life. Although the battery capacity of 1450 mAh should provide several days of work.
In addition, in a separate teaser, HMD confirmed that the phone will have the same game "Snake".
The updated Nokia 3210 is expected to debut on 8 May and go on sale on 15 May, priced at €89 (about $95).
