X platform launches Stories - news summaries from AI Grok

Company X, formerly known as Twitter, has announced the launch of a new feature that uses Grok's artificial intelligence to create news summaries.

The feature is designed to summarise personalised trending stories in the 'Overview' section of the app. According to the X Engineering team, Premium subscribers will be able to read a summary of posts on X related to each trending story featured on the "For You" tab in the Overview section. The "For You" page shows news and stories that are popular in your area, as well as other suggested items. This is one of the priority places for X users who want to find out what's being talked about on the platform without spending a lot of time scrolling through their news feed.

Access to xAI's Grok chatbot is designed to promote users to purchase premium subscriptions. With Premium and Premium+ plans, users can access Grok by tapping on the middle bottom button of the app.

Grok's Stories is already available for Premium X subscribers. Premium subscriptions start at $8 per month when paying through the website rather than the shops' apps.
