Google is offering the Pixel Tablet for free in exchange for an old iPad
Google recently relaunched its Pixel tablet at a reduced price of $399, eliminating the charging dock from the bundle. This should help boost sales of the Pixel tablets, which so far haven't had the same success as the Pixel Watch and the latest Pixel smartphones. If the reduced price doesn't appeal to you, Google is offering to get a Pixel tablet for free in exchange for an old iPad.
Here's What We Know
Google's online shop in the US is running a swap promotion where users can get a Pixel tablet for free if they trade in their iPad for it. And it can even be the 6th generation iPad, which was released in 2018 for $329. Users can trade in their six-year-old iPad and get a new Pixel tablet by paying only the applicable sales tax in their area.
Even if a person doesn't have an iPad, they can probably buy a working one for a small amount on eBay or Craiglist and then trade it in for a brand new Pixel tablet from Google. These favourable trade-in offers from Google for older iPads will only be valid until the pre-order of the Pixel tablet ends. After that, users are likely to get a much lower amount for their old iPad. So anyone interested in getting a Pixel tablet for free should hurry up now.
There is also an option to trade-in old Samsung tablets, but their trade-in prices are not as good as the iPad. Google is now giving just $100 for the Galaxy Tab S8, which was released in 2022. Although in April, the company priced the tablet at $250.
Reportedly, the iPad that is scheduled for Google's exchange must be in working condition with no significant physical damage. Otherwise, the exchange may be rejected.
