Google Photos introduces animated Material You carousel to view memories

Google Photos continues to improve its features with the introduction of a new design element - the animated Material You carousel.

The main difference between the new carousel is that the central part of the image remains visible while scrolling horizontally, creating the impression of a continuous stream of memories. In addition, the new portrait cards at the top of the photo feed have more rounded corners, which adds to the aesthetic charm of the interface.

This updated Material You carousel preserves the aspect ratio of images, making it easier to view photos in albums and other fixed-size media. It also uses the parallax effect, moving the carousel elements at a different speed than their content to create the effect of movement.

The new Material You animated carousel is available to users with Google Photos for Android version 6.81.
