Google presents a preview of the App Mall for ChromeOS: What is it and how does it work?
A preview of the upcoming App Mall for Google's ChromeOS has been released, available even to users who do not have a Chromebook.
Here's What We Know
This new feature, which is due to launch in the coming months, allows you to search for apps and games for Chromebooks. The App Store, called the App Mall, offers a wide range of apps for the web, Android, and Linux. It is currently available as a web application.
"The App Mall has three sections:
- "Home",
- "Applications, and Games,
- Search function.
Although it currently offers web and Android apps, this may be expanded in the future.
The new option resembles the built-in Explore ChromeOS app, but it has its own peculiarities. For example, it's labelled "Experiment" and has a Play Store shortcut in the side menu.
How To Switch It On
To test this feature, you need to activate the corresponding checkbox in ChromeOS.
