WhatsApp update: redesign and improved dark mode

One of the main aspects of the update is the new colour palette, which was chosen after careful consideration of 35 different options. Focusing on deeper tones, the developers have created a dark mode that is one shade darker to reduce eye strain in low light conditions.

iOS has a new attachment layout that makes it easier to send photos and videos. Instead of a full-screen menu, you get an expandable tray that makes it easier to see the options when sending media and documents.

The innovation also affected the icons within the app and the background design of chats, giving them a more rounded style.
