Teledyne FLIR Defence has unveiled the Rogue 1, a high-tech strike drone equipped with an innovative blast avoidance system
Teledyne FLIR Defence has unveiled its new Rogue 1 barrage munition.
Here's What We Know
Teledyne designers unveiled the new Rogue 1 drone this week.
It is a next-generation compact strike drone with vertical takeoff and landing that can carry various types of munitions.
Deployment of the Rogue 1 takes minutes and can be done in any environment.
The Rogue 1 is equipped with advanced FLIR Boson® 640+ electro-optical and thermal imaging cameras to provide day and night reconnaissance and surveillance at long ranges. In addition, improved communication between the sensors and the payload provides extremely accurate targeting.
The UAV is designed to attack armoured targets, lightly armoured vehicles, small ground targets and engage enemy infantry.
A key feature of the UAV is its innovative fuzing device, which prevents an explosion in the event of mission interruption or loss of communications. This innovation will make it possible to return the drone to the operator and reuse it.
The Rogue 1 can reach speeds of up to 113 km/h, has a communication range of up to 10 kilometres and can stay in the air for 30 minutes.
According to Teledyne, the drone works even in the absence of GPS signals.
