$12 million contract: US Marine Corps orders Rogue 1 attack drones from Teledyne FLIR Defence

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the company-manufacturer Teledyne FLIR Defence at the SOF Week forum. This is a $12 million contract for the U.S. Marine Corps to receive 127 UAVs. The first deliveries of the drones will start this summer.

Flashback

The Rogue 1 is a new generation compact strike drone with vertical takeoff and landing that can carry different types of munitions. The drone is equipped with FLIR Boson 640+ electro-optical and thermal imaging cameras, which are responsible for day and night reconnaissance. The drone is designed to attack armoured targets, lightly armoured vehicles, small ground targets and engage enemy infantry. The Rogue 1 can fly at speeds of up to 113 kilometres per hour. It has a communication range of up to 10 kilometres and can stay in the air for 30 minutes. You can read more about the UAV at the link.
