Due to the unexpected release of Hades 2, the developers of The Rogue Prince of Persia have decided to postpone the release of their game
Many developers were taken by surprise by the unexpected release of the early access roguelike action game Hades 2. To a greater extent it confused the plans of indie developers, who realise that their games may not be able to compete with such a high-quality project.
Among such studios is Evil Empire, which is working on The Rogue Prince of Persia.
Here's What We Know
The early release of The Rogue Prince of Persia was supposed to take place on the 14th of May, but that won't happen.
Evil Empire has announced that it has postponed the release date of its game indefinitely. A new release date for The Rogue Prince of Persia is promised to be announced on Monday 13 May.
In its statement, Evil Empire indicated that it "wants to let gamers have fun with Hades 2," but that the developers are absolutely confident in their game and intend to release The Rogue Prince of Persia by the end of May.
Note that in many ways The Rogue Prince of Persia and Hades 2 are similar to each other, so the decision to move the new Prince of Persia game may benefit both projects.
