MediaTek has unveiled Dimensity 8250 5G: a processor for mid-price segment smartphones
MediaTek has unexpectedly revealed a new processor for mid-budget devices.
Here's What We Know
We are talking about the Dimensity 8250 5G chip. This is the successor of Dimensity 8200. The novelty is built on a 4-nanometre process and boasts eight cores. The chip operates at a maximum clock frequency of 3.1 GHz. The novelty also integrated a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU for smooth visualisation and APU 580 for improved processing of artificial intelligence functions.
Dimensity 8250 5G supports cameras with up to 320 MP resolution and 4K 60fps HDR video recording. Apart from this, smartphones based on the new SoC can support 120Hz WQHD+ or 180Hz Full HD+ displays. The SoC has also received Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
When We Can Expect It
If rumours are to be believed, the OPPO Reno 12 will be the first smartphone with the Dimensity 8250 5G chip on board. The device will be released in the coming weeks.
