Amazon and Crystal Dynamics have announced a TV series based on the iconic Tomb Raider franchise
Last month, Amazon's film division released the first season of the excellent Fallout series. This success must have influenced the company's strategy, thanks to which, as it became known today, viewers will see a film adaptation of another iconic game franchise.
Here's What We Know
Streaming service Amazon Prime Video reported the beginning of production of the series Tomb Raider (the name is not yet final).
The main scriptwriter will be Phoebe Waller-Bridge - the author of the scripts of the famous series "Fleabag" (Fleabag) and "Killing Eve" (Killing Eve) and co-writer of the film "No Time To Die" (No Time To Die) about James Bond. Crystal Dynamics, the creator of the latest Tomb Raider trilogy and the yet-to-be-revealed new instalment in the series, will be responsible for ensuring that the series does not contradict the events of the Lara Croft games.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is excited to be involved in this project and left the following comment:
"If I could tell my teenage self that this is happening, I think she'd have a blast. The Tomb Raider franchise has been a huge part of my life and I feel incredibly lucky to be showing it on television with such passionate colleagues. Lara means a lot to me, as it does to so many others, and I can't wait to embark on this adventure.
Details of the series are being kept under wraps, all we know is that it will be an action-adventure film that will tell a brand new story about Lara Croft.
Recall, Amazon will be the publisher of the next game in the series Tomb Raider, about which little is known.
