Rise of Sauron: The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power season two teaser trailer has been released
There's good news for fans of Middle-earth and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Amazon Prime Video showed a teaser trailer of the second season of the series "Rings of Power", which will show the formation of the main villain of Middle-earth - Sauron.
Here's What We Know
In the second season of Rings of Power, Sauron, played by Charlie Vickers, becomes a major character. After acquiring the rights to the source material from Tolkien's heirs, Amazon made a big bet on Rings of Power, committing to multiple seasons at once.
The first season was a bit of a drag as the show's creators, J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, focused more on creating this rich fictional world and characters than advancing the plot. They wanted to avoid the "villain-centred story" of season one, but promised that season two would delve deeper into "the legends and stories people have been waiting to hear".
There will be the rise of Sauron, the forging of the famous rings of omnipotence, and the final alliance of elves and humans to combat Sauron's evil wiles. Judging by the teaser released, we're in for a lot more action in season two, with Sauron's shape-shifting abilities now conveniently disguised as an elf.
Prime Video also revealed a bonus behind-the-scenes video preview of season two.
The second season of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power will premiere on Prime Video on 29 August 2024.
