Debut teaser for Dune: Prophecy series - events take place 10 thousand years before the first film and show the birth of Bene Gesserit

The two Dune films directed by Denis Villeneuve have been a real success, so it was expected that this franchise would be actively developing on the big and small screens. And while we're waiting for the third instalment, a series set in the Dune universe is on its way.

Here's What We Know

HBO showed the first teaser of Dune: Prophecy series. This is a prequel to the films, as the events take place 10 thousand years before what we saw in the cinema. The series tells the story of two sisters Harkonnen, who fight against the forces that threaten the future of humanity and found a legendary sect that will become known as Bene Gesserit.

Alison Schapker is the showrunner and executive producer. Diane Ademu-John is a co-creator and executive producer.

The spectacular teaser shows the birth of Bene Gesserit as they begin to exercise their influence.

When We Can Expect It

There will be 6 episodes in total, they will start appearing in autumn, but there is no exact date yet. The series is inspired by the novel Sisterhood of the Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
