It's official: Assassin's Creed Shadows doesn't need a constant internet connection

Today many media outlets, including our portal, shared the news that Assassin's Creed Shadows requires a constant internet connection to play the game, even though it is a single-player game.

Here's What We Know

Ubisoft has published a rebuttal to this information.

The developers explained that the network connection will be required only when installing Assassin's Creed Shadows, and indeed we are talking, including physical editions. However, once the action game is installed, players will be able to enjoy it without internet access.

Note that if Shadows is going to be part of the yet unrepresented Assassin's Creed Infinity platform, a stable internet connection will obviously be required when running the game through that service.

When We Can Expect It

Assassin's Creed Shadows will release on 15 November 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
